Verruca Pedis also commonly called foot warts are lesions which develop in the skin following an infection by Human Papillomavirus (HPV). Some people are less immune and more vulnerable to HPV and have higher risk of contracting the virus from contaminated areas. Walking barefeet in places such as public swimming pool, bathrooms and changing rooms may increase one's risk of contracting the HPV.

Obviously skin is the biggest and heaviest organ in our body. It also helps protect our entire body system. Intact skin is crucial to our health, well-being and survival. When there is a breakdown in the skin integrity even at microscopic level, bags such as HPV can easily penetrate the skin and develop into lesions like warts.

How verruca or wart is treated depends on the size, depth and the number of lesions present.Treatments may range from Liquid Nitrgen, Keratolysis agent, Cauterizing agents to sometime even surgical excision.
